The Pros and Cons of The Mediterranean Diet

Olive oil isn’t as healthy as we thought.

For years, it was thought that olive oil was heart healthy — it turns out, it’s only healthy when consumed with fruits or vegetables.

This healthy diet

This is one of the healthiest diets in the world. I’d rather not call it a diet. It’s a healthy way of eating. Although there is a “diet” based on how they eat around the Mediterranean region.

The actual “diet” that was a thing for a while was good, but strict. You’re not supposed to have any added sugar or white flour, but those are often in desserts, and I feel that if we usually eat healthy, we deserve to eat dessert.

If you have problems with sugar addiction, or are just trying to be your healthier self and want to stay away from that tasty unhealthy substance, this is the diet to go with. You can still have dessert — it can be fruits, yoghurts, a pavlova (okay, still sugar) filled with fruits — there are still good options.

They base this healthy way of eating on the foods that grow around the area of Italy, Spain, and Greece, and it excludes all processed foods. This region is the perfect climate to grow just about anything. With the Mediterranean Sea right there, there’s plenty of seafood.
